After two great weekends of hard-fought games, Irvine Premier got eliminated from the State Cup tournament in the quarterfinal round. Throughout the tournament, IPSC beat FC Heat 1-0, Real So Cal 2-0 and Antelope Valley FC 2-0. In the final game, we went down 1-0 very early in the game. We started the game a little slow and Fram was able to capitalize on the lack of pressure. Throughout the first half, we got stronger and mounted pressure. Toward the end of the half, we had a period of sustained pressure, but were unable to capitalize on our created opportunities. Fram scored in the 45th minute to take a 2-0 lead. We fought back hard, winning our battles on the field and creating chances. With about 8 minutes to go, we scored, cutting Fram’s lead in half. We continued to press and create chances but in the end, we came up short losing 2-1. The team played extremely well all tournament and should be proud of their performance.
