North Irvine GU 14 White Runs to Coronado Final

The Irvine Premier Soccer Club’s GU14 team (Bronze Omega) turned up the heat as they participated in their first San Diego Tournament, the Crown City Classic, by playing 5 games in two days and earning finalist honors.

Despite IPSC dominating the first game, Canyon PSA (Silver Central) took the only goal of the game. This only spurred the team on to take the second game against FC San Diego 4:0 (goals by Spencer Bennett, Bethan Knights and 2 by Nikki Molkara); the third game against SanTan Legacy 2:0 (goals by Tara Terpening and Gabby Mackey); the semi-finals against Chula Vista Pumas3:2 (goals by Gabby, Bethan and Dewey DellaMaggiore).
In the final IPSC played their hearts out and ended the game with a tie 1:1 (goal by Tara ). It took 8 penalties by both teams before the game was decided with PSA taking the championship cup.

This really was a team effort with tremendous effort from our goalie Brigid Overton, our tight defence – Alison Rivas, Erica Lu, Sarah Samynathan and Gabby; our creative midfield including Kristin Adachi, Summer Hammeras, Alexandra Houston, Nikki, Tara and Dewey; as well as our non-stop attackers Melissa Wanyoike, Spencer and Bethan.

The team was able to achieve these results without two key contributors , Shannon Booth and SHIRIN SADJADPOUR ,

Congratulations to the girls and coach Russ Martin

Whats Next?
