Irvine Premier G98 ended the weekend in 2nd place in the Copa Laguna tournament. Having not played a competitive game for over 4 months, they relished being back on the field. IPSC lost it’s first game of the tournament to Laguna United 3-2. The team dominated most of the game and felt a little unlucky not to get a better result. In the 2nd game of the tournament, against Ladera FC, IPSC won 2-1, again dominating the possession. With the afternoon win, IPSC qualified for the semi finals against a very athletic SCSC team. The semi final game ended in a 2-2 tie, taking the match to a penalty kick shoot out. IPSC came out the victors 3-2 in the shoot out. IPSC was given a chance for redemption in the final game against Laguna United. Again, IPSC dominated the possession and created the majority of the chances but again were a little unlucky not to finish their chances. The game ended 1-0 in favor of Laguna United. The team fought extremely hard all weekend long and played some attractive soccer.
Congratulations to IPSC for their 2nd place finish in the Copa Laguna.
