The Irvine Premier G98 team competed in the 2012 State Cup, advancing to the Sweet 16 before being eliminated from the tournament. In the group stage, IPSC G98 faced Necaxa Xplosion, Wolfpack and OC Revolution, winning two of the three games. In the first knock-out round, IPSC G98 played North County Boca and cruised to a 3-0 victory. In the Sweet 16, IPSC G98 faced North County Boca Blue. North County Boca Blue scored an early goal, catching IPSC off guard. Irvine Premier were trailing 2-0 at half, after not being able to capitalize on the number of chances they created. After half-time, IPSC really pressed North County Boca Blue, creating even more chances to score. Irvine Premier was able to score a goal with 10 minutes to go, but unfortunately could not convert any other chances. IPSC lost that game 2-1 and were eliminated in the Sweet 16. Irvine Premier G98 finished as 9th place in State Cup.
