The Irvine Premier G96 team started the Swallows Cup with a bang, scoring after just 2 minutes played. In the first game of the tournament, IPSC played Capo FC and completely dominated the game. Irvine Premier created numerous chances and were able to get in behind the Capo defense almost at will. IPSC finished the game with a 2-0 win. In the 2nd game of the tournament, IPSC faced off against Beach FC. Again, IPSC began the game on the offensive, scoring after 43 seconds. Irvine Premier dominated the game creating many chances, but unable to convert those chances into goals. The game finished 1-0 in favor of IPSC. In the 3rd game of the tournament, IPSC faced off against Downey FC (CSL- Gold), who won their first two games 4-0 and 5-0. IPSC continued their fast start and again scored within the first 2 minutes with some good combination play. Irvine Premier went ahead 2-0. Downey FC was able to fight back and the game ended in a 3-3 tie. In the Championship game, IPSC again played Downey FC. This time both team were a little more cautious and defended better. Downey was able to score a goal midway through the first half, and despite consistent pressure, Irvine Premier was unable to convert any of their chances into goals. The team played extremely hard all weekend and were rewarded with a second place finish. Kylee Wren and Katlyn Baker each finished the weekend with 3 goals. Ashly Bradshaw and Nicole Roberts shared the duties in goal and had 2 shut-outs.
